HTC Bravo Hitting the States in January. Or is it the HTC Passion?

htc_bravoIt seems as though HTC might have hit the nail on the head with their upcoming release of the new HTC Passion/Bravo. It also seems as though there is a bit of confusion from major technology blog sites Engadget and Gizmodo about the branding of the phone in the US. Engadget headlines their article, “HTC Bravo pictured more lucidly (Update: coming to US in January as HTC Passion)”, while Gizmodo’s article reads as “HTC’s Passion to be Known as Bravo in States”

Hmm… Sounds like someone got confused somewhere.

Traveling Soon? Meet the Bing Price Predictor

3 December 2009 Commentsby: Zach Schmid

BingWith the holiday season fast approaching many of us will soon begin frantically searching the internet to find the cheapest airfare available to book that last minuet trip back home. In the past, when I’ve begun my search I’ve always went to Kayak.com . Kayak does a great job of scraping almost every airline website and sites similar to it such as Hotwire, Expedia and Travelocity. Even though I know Kayak is searching all of these sites for me, even after it gives me the best available rate, I’m still always left with the question “If I buy this ticket tomorrow will it be cheaper?”. Comcast to swallow NBC

tumblr_kqt7cmYj6L1qz6z0no1_500Mashable and other sources report that on Thursday Comcast is likely to buy a 51% stake in NBC, leaving GE with 49%. Comcast sits currently as the number 1 broadband and cable television provider in the United States and this venture would be a shift in Comcast’s business model in a new direction. Instead of simply delivering the ability to access content by the end user Comcast would have a major stake in content creation. NBC Universal owns USA Network, Bravo, Syfy, MSNBC, CNBC, among others.

maemo-device-processing-powerBack in October, Matt wrote a post about the smartphone market, and it really got me thinking… Why is it that you can never find a handset with reliable hardware, cutting edge operating system, and any network you choose? I was reminded of back in the day when I had Nokia mobile phones. I had several, but my memory of each was that they were built tough. I had one that my friends and I dubbed the indestructible phone. It was my “drunk phone”. I dropped it off a ski lift, threw it at brick walls, and we even ran it over with an ambulance (no joke), but it just wouldn’t break. However, if memory serves, the operating system was so dinky and archaic, that being virtually indestructible was pointless. So, I decided that if Nokia ever took on the Android OS, that I would pick it up in a heart beat.
